The Gridiron Geniuses
Season Summary
2019 Season Summary — The Gridiron Geniuses
Year one is in the books. A champion has been crowned. History has begun.
Champion: Travis K — Kelce's Angels 🏆
It was never really in doubt — and somehow that made it worse for everyone else. Travis K drafted with conviction, managed with patience, and won the inaugural Gridiron Geniuses championship with a 141.2 — 118.8 victory over Matt S in the final.
The tight end gamble paid off. The late-round fliers hit. The waiver wire was kind. Travis K is, officially, the first champion of this league, and he will not let you forget it.
The Numbers That Mattered
- Highest single-week score: Travis K, Week 8 — 176.3 pts
- Most consistent team: Hillary T (lowest weekly floor of the playoff field)
- Biggest collapse: Brock P, who was the preseason favorite and finished 7th
- Best story: Jay H reaching the semifinals on a QB no one else wanted
The Ones Who Got Away
Stefan D's season — 8-5 regular season, exits in the first round when his RB1 left in the third quarter with a hamstring. That's fantasy. That's the deal. It still hurt.
Derek H finished 4-9. He says next year is already different. He has started a new spreadsheet. We believe him.
League Culture Report
Year one of the Gridiron Geniuses established several important traditions: trash talk that gets personal in exactly the right way, waiver pickups that get announced like press releases, and at least one trade dispute that required a group chat intervention.
This is a real league now. Welcome to the history books.
Travis K — Season 1 Champion. Try to act surprised.
