2021 Season Summary — The Gridiron Geniuses

Jay H said "told you." He was right.

Champion: Jay H — Hurts So Good 🏆

Three years in and the Gridiron Geniuses have a third champion. Jay H's decision to draft a quarterback two rounds earlier than consensus — a decision that was loudly criticized in the draft room — produced a championship roster that nobody could stop.

Championship game: Hurts So Good 153.8, Kelce's Angels 134.2. Travis K reached his second final and lost. Jay H claims his first title.

Season by the Numbers

• Regular season record: Jay H, 9-4 (best in the league)
• Most total points: Travis K, 1,698 (second-highest in league history)
• Biggest regular-season blowout: Jay H over Derek H, 171.4 — 64.2 (week 9)
• Closest game: Adam T over Stefan D, 119.6 — 119.1 (week 7, no that is not a typo)

The Hillary T Problem

The defending champion's second-half collapse (2-5 after week 7) was the story no one expected. The speed strategy works — until it doesn't. Hillary T is already asking questions about the offseason. Year four is going to be interesting.

Legacy Report

Year 3 produced the league's most compelling draft narrative: a contrarian QB pick made at round 3 that won a championship. Jay H's approach is now canon. Every draft from here on will have someone trying to copy it.

Jay H — 2021 Champion. The QB strategy works. Allegedly.
