Week 13 — 2021 Regular Season Finale

The last week before the bracket. The last week for regrets.

The regular season ends and the 2021 Gridiron Geniuses have their answer: Jay H closes at 9-4, first seed, QB strategy vindicated. He drafted a quarterback two rounds early and the league laughed. Nobody is laughing now.

Travis K finishes 8-5, second seed. Two years removed from the championship, still contending, still dangerous, still drafting tight ends nobody else would take.

Adam T locks in the third seed at 7-6 after a strong second half. Nobody saw this coming in week 1. Everybody should have.

Missing the playoffs: Hillary T (6-7), the defending champion. The speed strategy showed its cracks in the second half of the season. She was outpaced by teams that went slower and deeper. She will study the tape.

Stefan D (6-7) missed on tiebreakers — again. His spreadsheet now has a dedicated tab for "tiebreaker injustices." It is four pages long.

Clinching Moment

Jay H clinched the top seed with a 148.6 — 112.3 win over Kyler M. He set his lineup, closed the app, and did not check until Monday. That is either legendary confidence or suspicious behavior. Possibly both.

The playoffs begin. Six teams. One champion. The Gridiron Geniuses are about to find out who built something real.
