The Gridiron Geniuses
Week 13 Recap
Week 13 — 2022 Final Regular Season Week
Thirteen weeks of receipts. The playoff field is decided.
Stefan D closes the regular season as the first seed, 10-3, best record in league history to this point. The Diggs-centered universe produced. The receiver theory held. The TE pick in round 5 became a league-winner. The spreadsheet has been updated with a new tab titled "vindication."
Travis K (7-6) sneaks into the playoffs as the fifth seed after a week 13 win. He's been here before — seeded out of the top-3, playing spoiler. The league has learned not to be comfortable when Travis K needs a win.
Hillary T (8-5) locks in third seed. The rebuild is complete. The consistency-over-upside strategy produced exactly what she projected: a playoff berth with a manageable ceiling and a sustainable floor.
Jay H (5-8) misses the playoffs as defending champion. He is philosophical about this. He has, he says, "already started thinking about 2023." Everyone in this league does that. Jay H does it while he still has games left to play.
Send-Off
Brock P finishes 4-9 for the third time. He has been 4-9 three times. He says "next year is different" with the exact same energy each time. This is either delusion or enlightenment. We cannot tell.
Playoffs begin next week. Stefan D enters as the favorite. In this league, that means exactly nothing and everything.
