Week 13 — 2023 Regular Season Finale

The fifth regular season ends. The bracket awaits.

Matt S (9-4) enters the playoffs as the top seed after one of the league's most complete regular-season performances. The rebuilt roster worked. The strategy that "nobody understood" in the draft produced. He has been waiting to say "told you so" since week 1. He will now say it.

Travis K (8-5) claims the second seed. Year five. Still contending. Still drafting things the room questions. Still in the playoffs. The Travis K regularity is, at this point, the league's most reliable fact.

Stefan D (7-6) slips to fourth seed despite a strong first half. The second half was complicated. The spreadsheet has a dedicated tab titled "regression analysis."

Missing the playoffs: Hillary T (6-7), eliminated in the final week when her opponent posted 151 on a Monday night kicker. Fantasy sports are defined by moments like this. They are defined by them in a way that is not healthy.

Derek H finishes 3-10, a new personal low. He has already texted the group chat "wait until next year." He has now been the last person eliminated from playoff contention in three of five seasons. His optimism is, at this point, a league treasure.

The 2023 playoffs start next week. Matt S enters as the favorite. In this league, that sentence has never ended the way you'd expect.
