The Gridiron Geniuses
Week 4 Recap
Week 4 — 2024 Gridiron Geniuses
Four weeks in. The early-season narratives are hardening into actual trends.
Week 4 is when fantasy football stops being projections and starts being evidence. The teams that are good have generally been good. The teams that were supposed to be good are explaining why the last three weeks were a statistical anomaly.
CJ W extends to 4-0. Lamb Chops has not lost a game this season. The RB depth is real. The week 1 explosion wasn't a fluke. The league is beginning to take this seriously.
Travis K is 3-1, as expected, as always. The Travis K week 4 record across six seasons is a remarkable 4-2. He is literally the most consistent week 4 manager in league history. Nobody talks about this. He prefers it that way.
Brock P finds himself at 3-1 despite a season that hasn't clicked yet aesthetically. His wins have been close. His opponents have underperformed. He is 3-1 and he knows it. "Whatever works," he said. Correct.
Stefan D bounces back from the week 1 horror show to go 2-2. The spreadsheet has been recalibrated. The sample size is now four games. He is feeling better about the regression model.
Matt S (defending champion) sits at 2-2. This is not where the defending champion expected to be. He said "it's still early." It is still early. He has made the playoffs five consecutive times. The 2-2 start is a blip. Or it is a warning.
The Group Chat Temperature
Currently elevated. Three trades in the last two weeks, two waiver claims that caused arguments, and one person who started a player on the wrong bye week and is now pretending it was intentional.
Week 5 arrives Thursday. Nobody is resting.
